The prayers on this page are for inspiration, guidance and reflection. Some of them have been used in our Sunday services.
We pray for the world for all those affected by the bush fires in Australia and we pray for Christians fighting for their faith in China. Give peace and love to us all, Amen.
We thank you for the New Year and all the excitement we have in front of us. We pray for all the children's groups just starting and give thanks for all the opportunities you give to show our young ones just how wonderful you are, Amen.
We pray for us as a church. Help us to come together and grow us in love and faith as a family. Help us to reach out to others and spread God's love and the good news of Jesus, Amen.
We lift up our parish to you. There are so many who are in difficult situations. Some are homeless or living in poverty. Others, Lord, are lonely or ill. Many have really tough family lives. We ask that you, the God of all comfort, would bring peace and healing to those who are suffering. We thank you for those who care and look out for them and we pray that many will come to know the Lord Jesus, Amen.
We pray for our church and all who worship here. Thank you for helping us to learn your word each week, for guiding us as we teach others and for giving us the tools we need to talk about you and your son Jesus. Thank you for surrounding us with your love and guidance as we go through our daily lives with you by our side. Amen
We pray for our government. We pray for our Prime Minister and his cabinet and pray that the work they are doing is honest and done wholeheartedly. We pray that as things are finalised for Brexit, key issues and provisions are not forgotten and done on time. We pray that as they go through this week that they listen to each other and continue to ensure faithful progress. Amen
Thank you that you make all things new. Thank you for all that you've allowed into our lives this past year, the good along with the hard things, which have reminded us how much we need you and rely on your presence filling us every single day. We pray for our spirit to lead us each step of this New Year. We ask that you will guide our decisions and turn our hearts to deeply desire you above all else. We ask for your wisdom, for your strength and power to be constantly present within us. We pray you will open doors needing to be opened and close the ones needing to be shut tight. We pray you would make us strong and courageous for the road ahead. Give us ability beyond what we feel able, let your gifts flow freely through us, so that you would be honoured by our lives and others would be drawn to you. Amen
The following few prayers were used recently in our Harvest Festival:
We pray for those in our community who have difficulty each week providing for there families. We thank you God for the important work of Foodbank and other charities who help feed those in need, Amen.
Thank you for everything that you have provided us with. Thank you for loving and caring for us in many different ways. Please help us to remember how fortunate we are, and for us to not take these blessings for granted. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
We pray for all those who are hungry, for those who suffer starvation. It is so hard to understand how in this world today so many need food, at home and abroad. Help us to help them, in our deeds and our prayers. We pray that all can have your nourishment and your love. We pray for all the people and agencies that seek to prevent anyone from starvation and all involved in this type of work. Give them strength and courage as they fight to save families facing disasters and conflict, Amen.
We pray for those who are suffering at this time whether from illness or from other difficulties in their lives. We ask for your healing hand to be upon them, and that they would know your love and comfort. May your grace sustain them day by day.
We pray for all those in need of your comfort and love. Help them through all their trials and toughest times. Show them that your love is eternal and always present for them. Give them strength and grace as they fight their many battles, Amen.
We thank you Lord for all those who give their time ad effort working to grow and produce our food so that we may have plenty to eat. We pray you would provide for them also and help them in their work and decisions they need to make, especially the farmers in the UK who are living in uncertain times. Be with them and provide for them we pray, Amen.
We pray now for our community. We pray for your presence in the streets and homes. We pray that neighbours learn to love each other and come to know Jesus. We ask for you to strengthen the bond our church has in our community and that the weekly groups and event we hold bring others to you. Amen
We pray for this parish and our church. We pray for all of those who come to praise your name or just find a way to be closer to you. We pray that your remind us everyday that we are all family in Christ and that we welcome each other just as we would our closest friends, Amen.
Thank you for the week we've just had. For the nice weather and the memories made. Thank you for being right by our side through good times and bad. Thank you for giving us the strength we need physically and mentally to get through difficult times when we experience them, Amen.
I pray for all those that are needing hope, strength and encouragement. Please minister to them now. I pray that you would work in their hearts. Dry their tears. Take away their fears. Be their healer, comforter and provider. You know who is struggling and you know each one by name. Please have compassion and mercy, and may they feel your presence like never before. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Help our church body to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have given us. Help us in all our interactions with one another to have humble and gentle hearts. Grant us patience for one another, bearing with one another in love. Grant the body of Christ unity. May we walk humbly with you, God, allowing you to show us our wrongs.
We ask you to help those who are in difficult circumstances in our community. We bring before you the homeless, the unemployed, the lonely and all those for whom life is really hard. Please help them in their difficulties and help us as a church to support them, Amen.
Please be with those who are sitting exams this week. Please be with them throughout this time. Fill their hearts with your peaceful serenity and we pray that in their minds they may think clearly throughout the exam and they are able to answer the questions well. Bring to their minds all that they have learned over the last few months. Thank you Lord that you are always there, Amen.
We pray now for our mission partners. We pray that the work they do reaches out to many people and pray for those who continue to help them in sharing the good news of Jesus. We pray for their safety and pray that you continue to be a guiding light for them. Thank you Lord, Amen.
We pray for you Lord Jesus and give you thanks that we know you and know of your love in our lives. We pray that this Easter your light will shine across the world, showing to all your wonder. We pray that they will want to know you more and more, Amen.
We pray for our church and all churches. We ask that you give them the strength and grace to continue giving your word, showing your love and helping all who come to them, Amen
Lord, we give you thanks for this congregation this family. We pray for our community too. We pray for any who are struggling at this time in whatever way. Give them love and hope and lead them to your grace.
We pray for those who are ill or grieving at this time. May your love surround them and give them peace in their time of grief.
We bring your people around the world before you, especially in the countries where they cannot worship you openly. We particularly pray for the work of Open Doors and Barnabas Fund. We also pray for our mission partners in South Africa and Malawi. We pray that you will give them strength and courage to spread the Good News.
We pray for those in our government. We pray that they would rely upon prayer and the word of God as their source of daily strength, wisdom and courage. Pray that they would bring dignity, honour, trustworthiness and integrity to the office they hold. Amen
We lift up all those who are dealing with illness today. We ask that you would bring healing, comfort and peace to them. Calm their fears and let them experience the healing power of your love, Amen.
Thank you for leading me to our church family. I pray that as we get older and closer that we will never lose sight of what brought us together, you. I pray that you watch over us and keep us safe. May we always be accountable to one another and never demean one another, but always encourage each other in times of blessings and trials. Thank you Lord, Amen.
We pray for those affected by the cyclone in Mozambique and Malawi. We ask you that you give them comfort in this tragedy. Amen.
We live in a world that is full of beauty and reflective of your glory. From towering mountains to deep lying valleys, from the lion’s roar to the peacefulness of birdsong, the blazing sun to the cooling rain. We thank you for the wonder of your creation. O Lord our God how majestic is your name! Yet Lord, with just a cursory look at the news we can see that this earth is marred by the effects of sin. There are wars, famines, diseases. We cry out to you on behalf of those who are suffering. And in particular, we lift up to you the people of California where lives have been lost and livelihoods ruined in the forest fires. May your compassion and comfort touch the bereaved, the dispossessed, and the frightened. Equip emergency services to work efficiently,may neighbours reach out to each other, and may people turn to you in repentance and faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
We bring before you our nation. We pray for the government, for local MPs and councillors and ask that they will rule wisely and in alignment with your will. In particular we bring before you the situation with Brexit. We pray that you will steer those in power to make decisions that are just and equitable. We ask you that members of parliament will put the good of our country above party politics and above personal gain. We pray that you will strengthen Christian MPs to remain truthful and faithful to you, and that their love for those who disagreewith their own views will be a shining light for the gospel. In Jesus' name, Amen.
We ask you to be with the children as they return to school. Allow them to experience the many blessings you put before them. Open their eyes to new challenges and exciting opportunities that the new term brings. Help them to be attentive to their teachers and all that they learn, Amen.
Please be with the people in our congregation and community as they go back to work. Help them to know what to do next with the gift of their work. Teach them to make wise decisions and to keep focused on the path you have set them on, Amen.
Heavenly Father, we lift to you our Christian brothers and sisters around the world who live with the constant threat of violence or injustice simply because of their faith in Jesus. Please be a shield to all who take refuge in You. Help those who have had to leave behind family, friends and all that is familiar, in order to make a fresh start, after violence or injustice; bless them in their new beginnings and keep them safe.
We praise You for those who endure injustice and imprisonment bravely for being a Christian, and still stay strong in their faith. Please continue to strengthen them and their families. We pray in Jesus name, Amen.
We ask you to help those who are in difficult circumstances in our country, and particular those in our community. We bring before you the homeless, the unemployed, the lonely and all those for whom life is really hard. Please help them in their difficulties and help us as a church to support them. Amen

We pray for the Holiday Club and give you thanks, for how well it went. We praise you for the children who came to have fun and learn about you. We pray that those who attended will want to learn more and will pass your word to their families and friends. We pray also for the teachers and helpers too who led so well and kept us safe.
Thank you for our families who keep us safe and loved. We pray for all those people who have no family left, who are miles away from them or have fallen out with them. Give them your love and strength. Help us to remember that you are a part of our family too. Amen
