Home Groups
As the name would suggest, these are groups which meet mid-week in various homes around the parish for about an hour and a half.
The aims of our Home Groups stem from the Bible’s encouragement to care for one another and build each other up in our Christian lives. In order to do that we study the Bible together in a relaxed where questions can be asked and comments shared. We build our friendships (usually over a cuppa and a piece of cake), pray for one another and even embark on the occasional social outing. You won’t be made to pray or read aloud: all participation is entirely voluntary.
Groups meet in the afternoons and evenings on various days, and all groups have one session off each month to give members time to attend the prayer meeting. If you would like to join a group, please contact James Terry, Vicar.
SEAN
SEAN is a modular course which takes members through the life of Jesus.
Reading Group
This is a chance to “Get into Reading” with the Reader Organisation. The group is for anyone interested in reading, but especially those with health or social problems. A small group meets each week to read a chapter or two, and have a discussion on various issues.
Prayer
We are very aware that we are dependent on God for all things, therefore everyone is encouraged to come along to our monthly prayer meeting: the first Wednesday of each month, in the church lounge at 7.30pm. We pray for ourselves, the local area and the wider world, and the meeting usually lasts about an hour. Some people prefer not to pray aloud: that’s absolutely fine. Just come along and give an encouraging “Amen” to others’ prayers.
We also pray before the morning service at 10.15am and at 7am on Thursdays at our Young People and Families worker, Charlotte.
